Frugal Makeup

Today, I saved $4.00 by buying baby wipes - for sensitive skin.  They are alcohol free and have no scented products in them.  Hey, if there good enough for a baby's butt - my eyemakeup - can be removed with these.

The Olay PROx Clear Skin care program - was a good choice.  Hey, I got the products  free with my Shopper's Optimum Points. That was a savings of $50.00.  The whole skin care program using the PROx brush which I got for $8.00 because of Optimum Points - has really cleared up my skin.

I just  love Anew makeup from Avon - it has great coverage - and your skin really glows.  I also love the skin so soft body creams - your skin feels like silk.  I am considering becoming an Avon lady again - I was one awhile back -  when I moved -  I gave it  up.  It's really a no brainer for me because I love makeup - love their Anew products - and other Avon products like skin so soft.  So maybe I will do it as a hobby!

Let's listen in to an Avon Song:
Hey, if it pays for my makeup every month - that in itself makes it worth doing. And, I am a people person.

But, hey - don't give up your day job not just yet - ha ha.

So, watch the prices - buy cosmetics that you love - when they are on sale - be frugal.

And, last and most important - love the skin your in.

My Makeup Secrets

My makeup secret is simple - stick to what you know.  But, sometimes you do have to try a new product - or - makeup - will become pretty boring.

Well, my new cleansing treatment has been a great success.  Olay PROx clear and the Kit with the brush is fantastic.  I love the battery operated brush and you can use any face product with it - it is amazing.

Lucky for me I had 3 coupons from Shoppers Drugmart that helped me buy the Olay PROx brush kit - so I ended up getting a $50.00 product for $8.00.

Now that the summer is pretty well over - I have switched back to my Anew makeup from Avon - it is a little better coverage and your skin gets that nice glow.

I have used up all my Joviance cream - which I love - but - I have to wait until I have enough Optimum points to grab this 3 in one face cream.  I can use it once in awhile now that the weather will make our faces more dry.  This cream will also help you get that nice glow.

Here's a review of the Olay PROx Brush system::

Told you - it's a great product.

If you live in Canada or the United States - hey - order it from Amazon it will be cheaper.

Personally my skin is clearer and softer since using this in my beauty routine.

So remember - always - love the skin your in!

The Breakout Blues

No matter what age we are - breakouts - are not nice.  We try our best to get rid of them.  Myself, if I eat one chocolate - I swear - I will have a huge zit that very same day.

My skin is very sensitive and I hate break-outs.  I should never go drugstore shopping when I have breakouts.  This is when all of my sound shopping advice goes out the window.  Right now, I am trying as of today - a new product from Olay.  It is suppose to be for mature skin and it helps you get rid of the acne at the same time.

The product is called Olay Professional PROx clear.  I tried it for the first time today, and after putting back on my cosmetics and my Mineral powder - my skin is very flaky.  So, I need to go easy on the product - probably - good for the evening - when you go to bed.

Apparently, there is a Olay Professional PROx clear system with a brush.

Here's a review of that product:
Darn - the brush - I need that brush - it sounds fantastic!  That will exfoliate the skin and get rid of the flakes.

I think during the day I will use my Jouviance cream - as - I don't want horrible flakes all over my face.  Will see how it goes - and - when my skin is nice and clear - I will do a review of this Olay product.  I just hope it is not too strong for my face. Will see.

It is so hard to know what causes break-outs?  Sometimes I think when we have product on our hair - we need to be careful that it doesn't get on our face.  It can be a fine balancing act.  Also, if it's food related at all - then - we really have to watch our diet.

In the food department I have to stay away from strong fruit juices and tomato juice.  I guess it is all too acidy for my system.

Moody and Fun Makeup

I just thought I would do a quick blog today - about - makeup fun.  I find that I have a lot of  fun at the makeup counter.  You look around - check out colour palettes - lipstick samples - all on your hand or your arm mind you. Thank goodness for wipes - or - you would be a big mess.

Don't forget my tip: always ask for samples of makeup that you already use and that will help you to stretch out your makeup.

Mood swing makeup - who knew?
Now that were going into the cooler weather - we have to use less bronzers and make sure your blush suits your skin type.

Mac lipglosses are a lot of  fun.  For some reason a lot of people love Mac.

My personal fun lipstick is from Lise Watier - called shortcake.  I love that colour.

A fun touch to your makeup is a product that glitters and you put it on your eyebrows from Lise Watier - called Fairy.

Make sure your facial makeup brush inverts in and out of the container.  This will protect your brush and keep it super sanitary.

My tip for today on how to save money on your makeup:
Always use a makeup brush - your lipsticks - will last twice as long.
Use alcohol and fragrance free baby wipes for eye makeup - they will last twice as long - and they are less expensive - then most of the facial wipes.  You will save at least $5.00 by doing this.

If you love shopping for makeup on-line there is a product called: Mineral Hygienics - for all of you Mineral Wear makeup lovers.  I will give you the link:

Makeup Junkie

Yes I have to admit it - I am - and always will be - a makeup Junkie.  That being said I still watch what I spend on makeup.  Actually, I am trying to stay on a budget with makeup and stick to buying what I know works for my skin.

I just started to watch the adds that come out at Shopper's Drugmart to see if anything I use is on discount.  One great thing about Shoppers is - the store I shop in - is small.  So you don't get lost and end up buying a lot of products you really don't need.  Need - being the key word here.

Concealing blemishes - watch this now:
Great - I knew there was a technique to covering blemishes!

Remember - always shop at Shopper's on 20X the points days - and - only redeem on redemption points days with your Shopper's Optimum card of course.

Go to all the Shopper's Drugmart Galas - where - you will end up with a ton of samples.  I know I am pushing Shopper's Drugmart a lot - but - where else do you get gas coupons, Tim Horton's coupons, or Shopper's Coupons?  You can save money there - but - shop wisely.

You can comparison shop of course - Walmart - Zellers etc. but make sure it is walking distance so your not wasting money on gas -and - know your prices.  I will mention one more time - if you have a travel points card - like for example an RBC Avion Visa Card or another travel visa or mastercard - use it - and get the points.

Only use credit cards if you can pay the balance off each month or your wasting your extra money on interest - and - that would not be a cool thing to do.

I found a new product you might be interested in - Mineral Hygienics.
Read what the site has to say - you have nothing to lose.

Having Fun With Makeup

Makeup can be so much fun!  Do you ever play around with the sample lipsticks?  Thank goodness they have wipes for that or you would look pretty funny walking through the mall or the store with 10 different shades of lipstick all over your hand and arm.

When I do go to the makeup counter I always ask for samples of my favourite face creams - and - if they have some - whooooray.  This will help me me get through a couple of days when my jar of face cream runs out.  Just make sure you get the brand you are using.

I love makeup Gala's at Shopper's Drugmart.  When I first heard of them - I was in!  The 5 dollar cost of the admission is well worth it.  I won a door prize awhile back full of body creams and lots of cool stuff and it was worth at least I would say 30.00.  At the gala you can get your face done up, your nails, or just talk to a rep for the makeup you love.  Again - free samples. Free is so much fun!

Here is some makeup storage ideas:
I never thought of a cutlery divider for makeup.  Who would of thought of that one?

My makeup tip for today is:
Keep all of those tiny little sample body creams in one place and go through them once a week or every other week.  I use them on my elbows, hands, legs, and arms.

Remember - love yourself first - and love the skin your in.
